CLASS B FIRE PROTECTION

Foam for Hydrocarbon Fire Protection

LCF Fire Protein Foam Concentrate is designed for Class B fires involving petroleum and other hydrocarbon fuels. When proportioned with water and applied through suitable foam-making equipment, it forms a dense, stable blanket over the fuel surface, suppressing flammable vapors and supporting cooling and fire suppression.

The protein-based foam offers heat resistance and burnback protection, helping maintain a protective barrier after extinguishment and reduce the risk of reignition.

Dense Foam Barrier

Forms a stable blanket over the fuel surface to help suppress flammable vapor release.

Heat-Resistant Stability

Helps maintain foam blanket stability under fire exposure for sustained surface protection.

Strong Burnback Protection

Helps resist flame penetration into the foam-covered area and reduce the risk of reignition.

Choose the Right Foam Concentrate

Match your foam concentrate to the fuels you handle, the equipment you use, and the conditions on site. Use this checklist to guide your selection.

  • Identify your fuels, including any alcohols, polar solvents, or fuel blends.
  • Define the areas to be protected and whether you’ll use fixed systems or mobile firefighting equipment.
  • Check that product testing and approvals cover your fuels and intended application.
  • Confirm that the proportioning ratio and viscosity are compatible with your proportioning and discharge equipment.
  • Verify suitability for your water supply, storage temperatures, and operating conditions.
  • Review local fire protection requirements, PFAS restrictions, and disposal requirements for spent foam solution.
  • Plan for storage, periodic testing, and replenishment. Check system cleaning requirements when replacing an existing foam concentrate.
